Community Physiotherapy
If you have a muscle or joint problem you can book an appointment with a community based physiotherapist rather than with a doctor. Our reception team can make these arrangements for you.
Community physiotherapists can assess you, diagnose you, create a treatment plan for you, and also refer you for further care if required.
The community physiotherapy appointments are conducted at other GP surgeries in North Cardiff, but we have the availability to book you into clinics at the following locations:
- Crwys Medical Centre (Wedal Road)
- Whitchurch Road Surgery (Sachville Avenue)
- Cyncoed Medical Centre (Dartington Drive, Pontprennau)
- North Cardiff Medical Centre (Excalibur Drive, Thornhill)
If you have an immediate issue for an on the day appointment, or for ongoing or more chronic conditions, you may need to arrange an appointment with your GP.
Hospital Physiotherapy
Adults
Cardiff and Vale University Health Board accept referrals from a GP. You will need to book an appointment to discuss with a GP and they can refer you on for physiotherapy.
Longer term physiotherapy is provided by specially trained and regulated practitioners.

Children
Children can be self-referred for physiotherapy under the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. You can refer your child to this service by filling out the form HERE, or by contacting the administration centre on telephone number 02921 836908.
Community based Paediatric Physiotherapists provide a service to children and young people across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan in their outpatient clinics, special schools and mainstream schools.
